Welcome back! Its not very often I get to shoot male talent (not helped by the lack of them available), but today for a mens modelling portfolio would like to feature the half Greek, artist and actor Alex.
We were aiming to do a male interpretation of the women’s beach photoshoots, but as it was cold enough that ice was developing on the camera, and the tail end of storm weather we just took a change at whatever we thought we could get. Alex, as you might have guessed is an artist studying in Glasgow, and also likes to act, which kinda showed as his own interpretation and actions made my job very easy, and being the artist it was a rare experience of bouncing ideas off each other thus coming up with some images that are both striking, and interesting. Employing some ideas, effects, and poses I usually wouldn’t.
I have pointed out before that being a model isnt easy, on location its a particular challenge and this day was no different for that, wind, the tail end of storm, and my secret shooting spot was completely submerged thanks to an abnormally high tide that edged, with the wind, on being about 2 foot higher than it should have. Areas I typically would have used for shelter, sand, and changing space were all gone and the kick up was throwing spray absolutely everywhere!
Which meant I had to keep cleaning my lenses every 5 minutes.
But I think it was worth it.
So take a look, see what you think about these photographs, and if interested get in touch for more information.
