Today I would like to give you a preview of a small weekend wedding in the picturesque location of Portpatrick, Near Stranraer in Dumfries and Galloway.
A late season wedding the weather was anyone’s guess for the day, showing signs of being good and bad (and everything in-between), as it happened it held out for the important parts where everyone was required outside for a big group shot.
Then by waiting for a while longer than I was contracted, by the off chance (and sheer luck) the sunset came shining through resulting in the shot that made the day!
The wedding itself was in the small Fernhill Hotel, a surprising establishment that from the car park is very modern, but mere meters in you are engrossed in an elegant old house and furnishings, much of which if only the time to spare I could have a field day photographing for the pages of a glossy magazine. I make no lie in there being scope for play time with a willing bride and groom. So much so I am hoping to fall on another wedding here in the coming year.
And, I save these comments for when I mean it, the service was great! Normally a photographer gets relegated but the manager and staff were very helpful to me on the day which always makes my job that bit easier and the day smother for the client too.
So, getting married in Portpatrick? give me a call! Regardless of where you are from as we get people coming to get married in this nook of Scotland from around the world.
